Chris Rugila, Director of Bands
Chris Rugila is a native of Monroe, Michigan. Chris graduated Cum Laude from Eastern Michigan University earning a B.A. in Music Education. While at EMU he performed in the Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony, Marching Band, Symphony Orchestra, Collegium Musicum, and the Huron River Brass Quintet.
Previously he was the Director of Bands at Blythewood High School in Blythewood, SC, South Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, NC, and Decatur High School and Decatur Middle School in Decatur, MI. Under his direction, his bands have consistently earned superior ratings in both concert band and marching band festivals. Most recently the Blythewood High School Blue Legion Marching Band was named the 2013 SC 4A Lower State Champion and the 2013 SC 4A Silver Medalist at SCBDA State Championships.
In addition to his public school experience, Chris spent two years as a performer with the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps during the 2003 and 2004 seasons. He began his drum corps instructional career as a brass instructor with the Memphis Sound Drum and Bugle Corps in 2005. He continued on the brass staff at Phantom Regiment during the 2008 and 2009 seasons. In 2011 he was a member of the administration team at Carolina Crown. He has been on the brass staff for the Blue Stars since 2013.

Kyle Winn, Associate Director of Bands
Mr. Winn comes to Klein Collins from Tomball High School where he served as the Assistant Director of Bands from 2013 – 2017. While at Tomball his bands received consistent UIL sweepstakes awards. His students achieved numerous positions in the Region IX honor band and Texas 5A All-State Band. In 2015 the Tomball Cougar Pride Marching Band advanced to the UIL State Championships in the Alamo Dome.
At Collins Mr. Winn will teach the Symphonic Band, assist with the other concert groups and the marching band.
Mr. Winn is originally from Oklahoma and attended Owasso High School. He graduated with his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma (’07) and also his Master’s in Music Education and Conducting (’11). While at OU, he performed with the Pride of Oklahoma marching band, the Symphonic Band, and the Tuba Ensemble. He studied conducting from Dr. William Wakefield and was a member of the graduate conducting studio, serving as Guest Conductor of the OU Concert Band. His student teaching was completed in 2007 under Darrin Davis at Broken Arrow Senior High School in Broken Arrow, OK. While on staff with the Pride of Broken Arrow the band won all awards and captions at the BOA Super Regional in St. Louis and finished 7th at the BOA Grand National Championships in Indianapolis.
Previously Mr. Winn has taught in the Norman, Putnam City, and Edmond Public Schools in Oklahoma at both the Middle and High School levels before serving as the Director of Bands at Stratford High School in Stratford, TX.
In the summer Mr. Winn serves as the Tour Director for the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps. Based out of La Crosse, WI. the Blue Stars are a founding member of DCI. Mr. Winn will plan their 3,000-mile tour schedule and coordinate the needs of the corps of they move from site to site.
In 2014, he founded a WGI indoor percussion group, Monarch Independent. In 2017 the group became a World Class finalist and finished 7th at the WGI Percussion World Championships in Dayton, OH. Mr. Winn serves as the Executive Director and President of the Board for the group. The ensemble is sponsored by Ludwig-Musser Ultimate Marching Percussion, Innovative Percussion sticks and mallets, Remo drum heads, and Sabian cymbals.
His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Band Masters Association, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.

Robbie Green, Percussion Director
Robbie Green comes to Klein Collins from Cypress Falls High School where he spent 12 years as the percussion specialist and before that he worked for 2 years at Elkins High School in Fort Bend. He holds a degree in music education from Oklahoma State University and a Masters degree in Percussion Performance from Middle Tennessee State University. Mr. Green is passionate about the percussive, technological and musical arts and seeks daily to connect, inspire, motivate and educate the next generation students beyond what we ever imagined possible.

Anna Rugila, Visual Coordinator
Anna Rugila comes to Klein Collins High School all the way from Charlotte, North Carolina. She studied French horn at the beautiful Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. While there she was a member of the Pride of the Mountains marching band and was also a member of the Eta Theta chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity.
After college, Anna worked with several Charlotte area bands in various capacities from 2006 to 2013. She worked as a high brass technician, a visual technician, a visual coordinator, and also as the Assistant Director of the South Mecklenburg Sabre Regiment Marching band.
When she wasn’t teaching marching band, Anna was working with Carolina Crown Drum Corps in Fort Mill, SC. For five years, she had the privilege of being on the administrative team for the drum corps as well as for their indoor winterguard, CrownGUARD, in 2009 and 2010.
Anna worked with the Blythewood High School Blue Legion in 2013 on their visual and design staff. That year the band went on to be the South Carolina 4A Lower State Champions and winning the silver medal in class 4A SC State Championships. Anna also worked with the Carolina Winter Ensemble Association in various roles in 2014 season.
After moving to Texas in the summer of 2014 with her husband and two little girls, Anna now enjoys life as Visual Coordinator for the Klein Collins Tiger Band. She is also a freelance visual coordinator/designer with several bands across the country. She enjoys serving the Tiger Band by working with the directors and students to help develop and expand the visual program for the marching band. Anna also works as a visual instructor for the ensemble.
